Chatia College recently hosted the 2nd Annual Inter-College Debate Competition on the topic “Social Media Plays an Important Role in Higher Education.” The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different colleges.

The competition was judged by Sumanta Rajbangshi, Assistant Professor of THB College, and Maini Saikia, Assistant Professor of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya. Dr. Anjal Barua, Assistant Professor of Chatia College, was the key speaker.

The event was successfully conducted by Dr. Surajit Saikia, Assistant Professor at Chatia College, while Dr. Anushree Adhikari hosted the program. Many notable guests, including Dr. Swapan Kumar Kalita, Principal of Chatia College, Anuj Kumar Saikia, Vice-Principal, and Mala Bordoloi, attended the event along with teachers and students.

The competition saw some outstanding performances by students. The winners were:

🥇 First PrizeAnuprenona Mahanta (Darrang College)

  • Cash prize of ₹5,000, a memento, and other rewards.

🥈 Second PrizeGyan Jyoti Sarma (Chhayduwar College)

  • Cash prize of ₹3,000, a memento, and additional prizes.

🥉 Third PrizeSamiran Deuri (Rangapara College)

  • Cash prize of ₹1,000 and other rewards.
