The Odisha government is set to release the first instalment under the fifth phase of the Subhadra Yojana on March 6, 2025, followed by the second instalment on March 8, 2025, coinciding with International Women’s Day. The announcement was made by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi via a post on his official X handle.

Government’s Commitment to Women’s Welfare

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida reaffirmed the government’s dedication to empowering women. According to her statement:

  • Women who missed their first instalment earlier will receive ₹10,000.
  • Women who have already received their first instalment will get ₹5,000 in the second instalment.
  • The funds will be directly credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

“The 1 crore milestone signifies the scheme’s widespread impact and our government’s commitment to women’s welfare,” said Parida.

Subhadra Yojana: A Timeline of Disbursements

The Subhadra Yojana was launched on September 17, 2024, by the BJP-led Odisha government to provide direct financial assistance to women. The scheme has seen the following phased implementations:

  • Phase 1: ₹5,000 credited to 25 lakh women.
  • Phase 2: Around 39 lakh beneficiaries received assistance.
  • Phase 3: Disbursement to 20 lakh women on November 24, 2024.
  • Phase 4: Financial aid to 18 lakh women on February 8, 2025.
